Author Response

Thank you, dear colleagues,

The authors wish to thank the editors and reviewers for their time in effort in reviewing our manuscript. We hope the changes listed have made the manuscript suitable for publication and we look forward to your responses. All the queries are considered and necessary corrections are being made accordingly throughout the manuscript.

All corrections in the text according to your comments are highlighted in green.

L250 Do you have information about the implications of disulfide and dimethyl selenide in the air? Apparently, the concentration is low to be a concern

You are absolutely right about the concentrations of S-containing gases dimethyl sulfide and dimethyl disulfide. They are really low. It would be possible to neglect these values, however, we decided to show all detected gases. At the same time, the dimethyl selenide concentration is the highest of all detected gases. Note that the normative values of the maximum permissible concentrations for this gas are not determined, neither the maximum on-time nor the average daily due to complexity of long-term toxicological experiments.

After a quick review, I found some typing and grammar mistakes. I just pointed out some of them.

So sorry and many thanks! We carefully read the manuscript several times and caught annoying errors and misprints. We really hope that all

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript presents the results of studying “Evidence of Volatility Metals and Metalloids at Environment Conditions”. This is very interesting study for reader. This manuscript has four sections including introduction, Materials and methods, Results and discussion and Conclusion. After reviewing this manuscript carefully, this manuscript was written very well. Analytical methods are fine but there are some changing/suggestions required before publishing in worthy journal.

In material and methods, in section 2.2 and 2.3, QC/QA is not discussed for the determination of the elements. What are the LOD/LOQ? What are the internal standards? What are the method blanks and method blank recoveries so briefly explain the QC/QA.

In result and discussion, Line 208-211 also write the formulas with name of compounds to get the uniformity with table 1

In table 1 & 2 replace the word element with other term (components/variables, Elements-compounds etc) because all the given components are not elements

In table 1, what is LOI. If it is loss of ignition, please write it full instead of abbreviation.

In table 2, please write Eh full term instead of abbreviation

Finally, authors would read the manuscript throughout to typographical errors in the revised manuscript

Overall, paper can be accepted after a minor-moderate revision

Dear colleague, thank you for your kind comment

In material and methods, in section 2.2 and 2.3, QC/QA is not discussed for the determination of the elements. What are the LOD/LOQ? What are the internal standards? What are the method blanks and method blank recoveries so briefly explain the QC/QA.

We have added information in Section 2.3 and provided a Table with the metrological characteristics of the analysis

In result and discussion, Line 208-211 also write the formulas with name of compounds to get the uniformity with table 1

We have added the formulas of quartz, pyrite, barite, sulfides, and sulfosalts; slightly corrected the percentages of pyrite and barite, taking into account the mole content. Thank you!

In table 1 & 2 replace the word element with other term (components/variables, Elements-compounds etc) because all the given components are not elements

Thank you, it has been replaced

In table 1, what is LOI. If it is loss of ignition, please write it full instead of abbreviation.

Thank you, we have explained abbreviation

In table 2, please write Eh full term instead of abbreviation

Thank you, we have added Eh full term and units

Finally, authors would read the manuscript throughout to typographical errors in the revised manuscript

So sorry! We carefully read the manuscript several times and caught annoying errors and misprints. We really hope that all
