Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article proposes a hybrid compensation scheme for the uncertain parameters and disturbance of hypersonic flight vehicle (HFV). The article is well written and need some minor modifications before publication in Applied Sciences.

1. Add relevant references for the mathematical equations and models employed in the current article.

2.  One line 61, fix the spelling of "problem". Also, fix other such minor mistakes throughout the manuscript.

3. Compare the performance of the proposed hybrid approach with other models for the same problem both quantitatively and qualitatively.

4. Compare the proposed approach with other approaches for the same problem in terms of hardware requirements for actual implementation.

Reviewer 2 Report

The article seems to be interesting and potentially useful in designing controls for flying objects. Nevertheless, a major doubt arose during the review. Why do the authors say that their proposed solution will be sufficient for hypersonic flying vehicles (HFV). As presented in the section Simulation results and analysis, the assumed flight speed is only 51.0441 m/s, where the hypersonic objects have a speed above 5 mach (over 1700 m/s). The current form of the article should be a dedicated control not for HFV, but at most for HFV-like objects. Therefore, the title and some parts of the text, describing mentioned doubts, should be corrected.

In addition, the authors did not avoid minor editing errors, for example:

 -in line 61 there is "prob-lem" instead of "problem";
 -in line 63 there is "disturban-ces" instead of "disturbances";
 -in line 69 there is "electrom-agnetic" instead of "electromagnetic";
 -in line 149 there is "nonlinea-rity" instead of "nonlinearity";
 -in line 330 there is "auto-matic-ally" instead of "auto-matically";
 -in line 381 there is "Iy" instead of " Iy";
 -in the Table 1, in several places, there is "m2" instead of " m2".
