Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper introduces an incremental second-order delta-sigma modulator with a coarse-fine input buffer in 180-nm CMOS. The circuit adopts a coarse-fine buffer for higher performance, but I have the following problems and suggestions:

1. Whether the cost of the modulator with coarse-fine input buffer is higher than that of the traditional modulator?

2. Are there any difficulties when using the modulator with coarse-fine input buffer compared with the traditional buffer in application?

3. It is suggested that the references should refer to the literatures in recent years.

4. In what applications is the modulator with coarse-fine input buffer most needed? Does the traditional modulator not meet the practical application? It is suggested to add descriptions in the introduction section.

5. What are the greatest advantages or features of the modulator with coarse-fine input buffer? low noise? Or adjust the high slew rate, power, and speed?

6. It is recommended to add keywords according to the characteristics or advantages of the modulator with coarse-fine input buffer.

7. Please unify the writing of “Figure” and “Fig” in the article.

8. Please modify the table into a three line table.

9. It is recommended to highlight the advantages of the modulator with coarse-fine input buffer in the abstract and conclusion compared with the traditional modulator, rather than simply listing the performance parameters.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors present the results of the proposed input buffer achieved an ENOB and SINAD of 13.14 and 80.87 dB, respectively.

In my opinion, the work is very interesting and well presented, clear and concise.

Reviewer 3 Report

The manuscript "presents an incremental second-order delta-sigma modulator with a coarse-fine input buffer in 180-nm CMOS" has an interesting and important subject of the research field.

The general presentation is good.

The presented results are interesting and useful.

The design of the manuscript has a nice presentation but a n high resolution of some figures are welcome (for example figures 9 is difficult readable).

The reference covering well the specific field, but in "Introduction" section mus be more explicit (for example [1-3] and [6-10]).

The conclusions are based on obtained results.

The manuscript can be considered for publish in Applied Sciences journal!
