Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

I propose to add the obtained numerical results in the abstract.

I propose to describe the symbols from I to VI in the caption of Figure 3.

Drawing caption - center.

In the results - first I propose a description of the drawing later. The chart is not compatible with the form.

I propose to add a research plan. I propose to write down how many connections have been tested.

If five connections were tested - this is not enough.

Please justify why only one M20 thread type was tested.

Author Response

- The results have been added to the abstract.

- The symbols I – VI have been added to the Fig. 3.

- The description of the figures has been centred.

- The text describing the individual graphical dependencies has been added to the results (Fig. 12 and Fig. 13)

- The third chapter has been extended with the experimental plan, the number of measurements, as well as the rationale for the choice of the measured M20 bolt.

Reviewer 2 Report

In this paper, experimental determination of the coefficient of friction on a screw joint were investigated. However, there are several points that needs to be addressed.

1.     Novelty of the research in introduction is not clear.

2.     The language of the manuscript should be revised. Some grammatical errors are present.

3.     In general, the coefficient of friction depends on diverse factors such as roughness of thread surface, gradient angle of helix and grease properties. Which factor is most important in this research?

4.     There is lack of description for each figure in this paper.

5.     More discussion on the mechanism of lowering the value of the coefficient with different lubricants should be made.

6.     The conclusion should summarize the most important contribution of the research.

Author Response

1 - The introductory chapter has been supplemented with the relevance of the topic.

2 - The text has underwent a linguistic proofreading.

3 - A statement on the most important measurement factor was added to the introduction.

4 - The descriptions of the figures have been added to the text.

5,6 - The conclusion was expanded to include contributions and discussion on the given issue.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

Fig. 12 and Fig. 13 do not follow the guide

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors have revised the manuscript carefully, so it can be accepted.
