Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper investigates an interesting issue such as non-measuring camera monitoring of comprehensive displacement of simulated slope mass based on edge extraction of sub-pixel ring mark. In particular, the Zhang Zhengyou calibration method is used to calibrate the non-metric digital camera, which is used to monitor the simulated slope with ring marks.  The methodology is pertinent and English is good, as well as the scientific soundness. There are several issues to be considered, such as:   1. Novelties need to be expressed in the introduction explicitly. In what way this paper contributes to the literature? Is there a gap to fill? 2. Section 2 is too long if compared with the others. Please divide into several sections  3. Section 3 "results" need to be expanded: only figures 8 and 9 seem not sufficient 4. Conclusion The list of points needs to be reduced or moved in the previous section. Conclusions need to be more general: possible applications, further works...

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript “Non-measuring camera monitoring of comprehensive displacement of simulated slope mass based on edge extraction of subpixel ring mark” by Han et al. uses the Zhang Zhengyou method to calibrate the non-metric digital camera and monitor the simulated slope with ring marks. The manuscript is well-written and constructed. However, in its current form, it has some aspects for improvement.

1. In the abstract: the conclusions are very general.

2. In the discussion section, they should be discussed with similar studies.

3. The conclusions must be related to the objective of the study. It is recommended to improve.
