Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors establish supervision system 4.0 for a road tanker washing robot manipulator. There are some comments and advice:

1. The article described in the abstract and introduction is not innovative enough.

2. The description of the shape of the research in the introduction is not comprehensive enough, and the connection between the description to the paper at the end is not natural enough.

3. This paper only describes the simple design and flow, and there is no detailed structural design description, and there is no detailed description of the movement and working principle of some important structures in the working process.

4. You can do a simulation of car washing to reflect the working effect of the machine designed in this paper.

5. Before such products are put into use, it is necessary to describe the possible failures and give feasible solutions.

6. Part of the data twin design is too simple to be practical.

7. The conclusions can be summarized more incoherently.

8. This article looks more like a simple product design description than a research paper.

It is ok

This paper introduces a SCADA system for a new road tanker washing robot, aimed at integrating all systems and communication networks of the organization and future FDI modules. To support the development of the SCADA system, a digital twin (DT) was used, which allowed its functionality to be tested and validated on a virtual prototype of the road tanker washing robot. Overall, the paper is well structured, however there are some point need to be clarified.

1. The contribultion of the paper is not clearly, it should be described clearly in Introduction section.

2. There are lacks of surveys about recent studies in the field of Industry 4.0  application in manupulators.

3. How the SCADA system architecture can really control and monitoring the system in real time, there are lacks of descriptions.  How the signals are processed and feedback to the system.

4. The validate is for the systems is not enough, please justify your simulation.

Very good article with an interesting research topic. It concerns the process of washing road tankers, which is currently a manual process and requires the operator to place the washing head in the tanks. To increase operator productivity and safety, it is essential to implement automated systems with the ability to detect and isolate faults. The implementation of the new solution requires the introduction of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems that integrate with collaboration systems and promote the digitization of companies and system solutions. To support the development of the SCADA system, a digital twin was used, which allowed to test and verify its functionality on a virtual prototype of a tanker washing robot.

The strength of the article is the concept of the solution, a very good evaluation of the literature and a technical description of the proposed solution. Very well presented model validation.

The article is very well prepared and could actually be printed as presented. However, I suggest:

1. complete the list of used abbreviations

2. it is necessary to emphasize the goal and show the "research gap" that results from the literature research

3. it is also worth discussing the results and referring to other authors

The article fits very well in the profile of the AS journal.
