The Authors concerns on the TCA of S-shaped tooth profile gear pair. The influence of shaft misalignments on the meshing performance is very important issue. The conclusion of using S-shaped profile in spite of involute profile, in some certain range of shaft misalignments, is very interesting. I hope that the Authors will develop the presented content of this publication (TCA) by carrying out an experimental tests or even by LTCA in subsequent publications.

 Some aspects that Authors should precise/add/correct:

2. In Table 1 for spur gear the teeth number is 6 (pinion) but for helical gear (pinion) is only 5. Why Authors didn’t take the same number of teeth for both cases?

3. Pleas uniform the nomenclature: module – modulus.

4. Above equation 2 m is noted as “tack modulus”?

5. In Table 1 write the value of the center distance - not only "Standard".

6. In Fig.15b, 18b, 19b, and 20b add the unit for values of the shaft misalignments.

The presented research seems to be a bit outdated. The references are almost all from older dates. That section must be completely rewritten and the attractive's of the presented problem must be highlighted. 

The chosen examples are not appropriately presented. Illustrations do not match with Table 1. 

The conclusion is not given appropriately. In that section improvements and their significance must be clearly and numerically given. 

The paper does not contain any of the experiments, I would recommend submission after experiments are conducted.

This paper covers the novel model of sine-shaped tooth profile gear pair with a few pinion teeth and tooth contact analysis considering shaft misalignments. Reviewer considers that the following revisions are necessary in order to improve the paper.

1.        Title and others: Why is “A few pinion” ?  The reason of “a few” should be described clearly.

2.        The sizes of notation and words in sentences are different here and there. This matter should be improved.

3.        The two types (3×3 and 4×4) of the coordinate transformation matrices regarding to the rotation. These should be unified to one of the two.

4.        Table 1: Numbers of pinion tooth 6 for spur gear and 5 for helical gear. The reason of the difference should be described. In addition, the number of pinion teeth is different from a few pinion. The reason should be also described.

5.        The relation to the manufacturing should be described.

6.        The confirmation by experiment is expected.
