Introduction: The english style is poor. You should improve your English.

Introduction: The english style is poor. You should improve your English.

A: The text is translated by an internationally certified translator. After the last remarks, I will ask her to correct the text again.

Line 2: Please change to “The housing system contributes to udder health and milk composition”

A: Title changed.I hope the reviewer has thought this through. The proposed change distorts the assumptions of the research. Such a title takes into account only one factor.

Line 9-10: Please change to” the effect of housing system on somatic cell count (SCC) and milk composition”

A: It is true that the housing system affects the somatic cell count (SCC) and the composition of the milk. But the SCC affects the composition of the milk very strongly and cannot be ignored.

Line 13: Please rephrase this sentence “The tie-stall system, mainly due to individual care, was superior to the free-stall system.

A: Debatable note. The translator will correct this after the final remarks.

Line 14: Data showed that the milk from….

A: corrected

Line 34: Furthermore, an optimal housing system….

Line 44: Be consistent, to use “word” cattle or cows.

A: Dairy cattle is used in the quoted source

Line 46: Please rephrase this sentence “The compared systems differ also in milking methods

A: what does the sentence mean: “The statistical analyses look wrong”?Please explain it.

The proposed layout can be used when there is an interaction between the factors. For example in these studies: daily milk yield.

The proposed layout of the tables would quadruple their size.

Reviewer 2 Report

In the current submitted manuscript by Zenon Nogalski et. al., is a good manuscript on the topic ‘The milk composition depending on the housing system and udder health’. The authors present an idea to determine the effect of the housing system and somatic cell count
(SCC) on the composition and fatty acid profile of milk. I have gone through the complete manuscript and the following points should be clarified:

1.      The Research Title can be more scholarly and well-structured. Kindly take this observation into consideration.

2.      Line 290 - Check the correction for the word ‘interest’.

3.      Line 265 - Kindly change the sentence for the betterment into, ‘In the present study, the analyzed housing systems were no different with respect to feeding methods.’

English is good minor mistakes should be rectified.

Reviewer 3 Report

The work by Zenon Nogalski and Martyna Momotshow in this study, was to determine the effect of housing system (maintenance system, manure removal, milking system, feeding method) and increased SCC on milk composition and the fatty acid profile of milk fat, with special emphasis on the content of nutritionally 85 essential functional fatty acids.

I have found some minor details in the ms that need to be revised, which hopefully will improve the quality of the present work.

. 1)           In the description of the figures, abbreviations should not be used. 2)           Keywords: Please do not include words mentioned in the title of the ms, and Sort key-words alphabetically. 3)           Why the use of One herd of 210 Holstein-Friesian exactly.

4)           Line 131 : Fat in milk, as in any other food, can be determined by various methods, why use in this study the method of Röse Gottlieb

A: corrected

Keywords: Please do not include words mentioned in the title of the ms, and Sort key-words alphabetically.

A: changed ‘housing system’ to: ‘tie-stall, free-stall’;

sorted alphabetically

Why the use of One herd of 210 Holstein-Friesian exactly.

A: The study was conducted in one herd to eliminate the influence of other factors: nutrition, handling, performance level, etc. The cows were kept in two buildings with different housing systems.

Line 131 : Fat in milk, as in any other food, can be determined by various methods, why use in this study the method of Röse Gottlieb

A: In our milk evaluation lab, milk fat was extracted by the method proposed by Röse Gottlieb
