Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The introduction appears to be relevant and well-structured. It addresses the importance of understanding human behavior in domestic spaces, which is highly relevant to healthcare applications. The references cited support the significance of this research in the broader context of HAR in healthcare. However, it's important to ensure that the introduction explicitly connects your work to the field of Human Activity Recognition (HAR) in Healthcare. You might consider adding a sentence or phrase that highlights the relevance of your study to HAR in healthcare, especially if the special issue focuses specifically on this area. Make sure that your introduction aligns with the theme of the special issue and emphasizes how your research contributes to the field of HAR in healthcare. Overall, the introduction provides a solid foundation, but you must tailor it further to align with the specific focus of the special issue and highlight the unique contributions of your research in the context of HAR in healthcare.

Must involve IoT topics

General remarks:

Clarify the language for better readability and flow.
Provide additional context to explain the relationship between the proposed method and the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) process.
Improve the structure by listing the generic steps involved in KDD processes.
Emphasize the importance of background knowledge of the analyst in the knowledge discovery process.
Clarify the connection between the proposed method and the scientific method.
Highlight the adaptability of data visualizations and the flexibility for parameter modification.
Simplify and clarified the description of key spatial and temporal parameters used in data analysis.
Mention the purpose of the survey conducted in the paper.
Clarify the scope of the paper regarding data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, and transformation.

Data used was not described, even when the data collection, techniques for data cleaning and preprocessing, and
data transformation are out of the scope of this paper. But you must use a data, and it is not described at all.
What are the sensors used, what the sensors register, how it is registered this information, an how it was used to do the analysis. Looks that the work was based on the perception of participants volunteer, as primary work, for post-analysis of the study authors want to conducts, I think this is not a work concluded and I suggest conclude it.

This revised conclusion provides a glimpse into potential future research areas, such as advanced sensor technologies, data visualization enhancements, and healthcare applications, which can help the reader understand the next steps in your research journey. How ever the results are confuse, the data was not described and also the sensors was not described. I tis not clear what was the data that was processed of if the study was based just on forms filled by participants.

In this study, a study has been presented on how data collection can be carried out for the evaluation of people's domestic routines. However, for the study to make a better contribution to the literature, the study should increase the number of participants whose data input is collected, if temporal information is collected, this information should be categorized as old, middle-aged, young and children, and detailed information should be provided on when outliers occur in the data set and how these outliers can be eliminated.

The quality of data is an important process step in any machine learning approach. When a data entry without pre-processing is made into a developed system, the performance of the system drops considerably. For example, in a machine learning model that performs signal processing, if the input signals contain outliers or noise, both the training/validation and test performance of the model will decrease. In this context, the presented study also discusses how to collect appropriate data for the analysis of daily life routines.

In this study, a different perspective was brought to the data collection process. For example, obtaining spatial and temporal data in a way that reflects the time and location relations of functions in daily life will guide the researchers who will work on these issues in the future.

In this study, research has been conducted on how routines in daily life can be transformed into suitable data that can be used for any system by modifying the Knowledge Discovery in Database process.

More research should be done on how best to interpret the graphs to be produced based on the data obtained from the proposed study.

Experimental studies are not sufficient to interpret the results. More subjects with different age criteria should be considered.

More recent literature review should be considered to better examine the proposed study.

Titles and labels in tables and figures, etc. not in a more readable way. In terms of interpreting the data, instead of giving a few shape options, the data should be represented with more different shapes.

In this manuscript, the authors evaluated the KDD process to promote awareness about spatial, temporal and transitions between locations aspects resulting from monitoring domestic routines. The feedback collected from stakeholders in the construction industry suggest that this information can be of great interest and will help to design more efficience and low-carbon houses in the future.

In my opinion, the current manuscript could be interesting, and can be potentially accepted as follows

1) The author had better give a specific definition of "domestic space";

2) Regarding the domestic space, it could be involved with the individual private information, and the relate studies need to be approved by some level of ethnic committees, do you obtain this approval?

3) In the introduction, Refs[4-6] are cited after Ref.[7], it is not plausible.

4) In the authors' contribution, the authors should declare each author's contribution.

5) Words and expressions need to be further polished, such as  in line 12-13, "...have been challenging and the focus of ..."; in line 17, "our study evidence ..."; in line 26, 'Existing literature..."; in line 61, "...process (KDD) process"; in lines 153-156, there is only a long sentence to consitute one paragraph, thus I ask the authors to check the whole manuscript and re-organize it.
