Round 1

Line 584.
In the definition of thalassotherapy reference is made to the classic publication of Lucchetta, et al. (2007 &in Italian), however, subsequently, Bonsignori, F. (2011) or specially the well-known "proposal for a worldwide definition of health resort medicine, balneology, medical hydrology and climatology" of Gutenbrunner C et al. (2010) , as well as the commentary on it published in 2011 by Maraver F et al. should be considered in the discussion as thalassotherapy is a little-known concept and the article, with its complete text , tries precisely to review the evidence of thalassotherapy.

The paper represents an extensive review article on the role of cosmeceuticals and thalassotherapy on skin recovering and well-being after cancer therapies. After going through the article a few times, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount, quality and complexity of the information that this article gathered in its contents. The authors rigorously detailed and systematized all known aspects found in the most important databases linked to their area of interest.
Some minor changes should be done, regarding the spelling, for example row 583: post-oncology recovery (a letter must be added).
Please consider the suggestion of including a paragraph on the still controverted pros and cons associated to full body bathing in thermal/mineral waters over 38 degrees Celsius. There is data on the effect of deep heat procedures (mineral waters immersion, mud packs, sauna, parafango, infra-red therapy) in both directions: benefit by early apoptosis of cancer cells and disadvantage as the heat directly stimulates cellular activity, including cancer cell activity, promoting primary tumor growth or metastases.

The importance of thalassotherapy techniques for skin care after cancer treatment is described in the manuscript.
The authors presented in detail possible skin disorders after oncological therapies and then pointed out the advantages of cosmeceuticals and thalassotherapy for skin care of oncologic patients.
The paper is written clearly and precisely.
What should be corrected is:
1. listing keywords (list one word in a row, without conjunctions)
2. reduce the content of the manuscript that refers to the description of certain skin lesions, the authors' need to bring the content of their work as close as possible to the readers is understandable, but excessive detailing can divert the focus from the main goal of the manuscript, which is the importance of thalassotherapy
3. pay attention to the way of citing references, in some references the year of publication is not bolded
4. about 60 references are more than 5 years old, it is necessary to update the literature
Author Response
Dear reviewer,
Thank you very much for your advice. We tried to follow all your suggestions.
- Key words rewrite.
- We agreed that the section 2 is extensive; we decide to describe briefly the cutaneous adverse events because there is a lack of publications which include all (most of them are related to specific dermatological problems or focus in the effects of a specific drug). We hope and appreciate you may consider this point of view.
- Citation revised.
- Recent references have been added.
Kind regards
