Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper requires needs to be improve before publication

1. The main research problem addressed by this article is the search for a distribution network consumption strategy with distributed photovoltaics. This problem is a topical, multidimensional and multi-disciplinary research area.

2. The relevant parts of this article are a review of recent research work on distributed photovoltaic siting and performance strategies and distributed PV energy storage methods. However, this review is strongly narrowed o to the narrow circle of the authors' country of origin or the place of publication of the article. Several important algorithms (e.g. swarm algorithms, ant algorithms, Hooke-Jeeves method) are missing from the review of PV MPPT control methods.

3. The novelty of this review is that it is based on the latest data, reports and research work in the field of distributed PV, which is developing very rapidly in many countries on all continents. A similar research review has not been published recently. However, the section on distributed PV generation and storage in this review should be expanded to include research papers on Europe, where distributed RES is developing most rapidly

4. The methodology of the individual tables needs to be improved. A literature source should be added to each method presented in the tables. Some method evaluation metrics or quantitative indicators or both should be added to the listing of individual algorithms and methods. Some evaluation criteria for individual methods are too arbitrary.

5. Distribution network consumption strategy with distributed solar PV is a multidimensional and multidisciplinary research area that requires continuous research and innovation to adapt to changing technological and societal needs. At this stage of research, there are no model solutions yet and the authors present the current state of play in the review.

6.  In terms of literature reference, the paper needs major improvements. The literature review is very narrow. Several highly regarded journals with high IF are missing. Especially journals and authors from Europe are missing, as well as from America, Africa or central and western Asia.

7. All Tables require significant technical corrections (formatting, justification, style, arrangement of contents of individual columns, correction of editorial errors). Equation descriptions (1-7) also need editorial improvements.  The quality of some drawings also needs improvement, e.g. Fig.4, Fig.5, Fig.7.

Author Response

First, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to read my manuscript. Secondly, thank you very much for your constructive comments on the manuscript.

  1. After receiving your revision, I thought about it for the first time and found that I did limit myself to the PV development in my own country, and did not summarize the world PV development, especially for the European countries where PV development is faster, so I added the PV development in the world during the revision process. As you mentioned, the distribution network consumption strategy of distributed PV is a multidimensional and multidisciplinary research field, and I would like to ask you to revise the summary again if it is insufficient. Thank you again.
  2. You mentioned that there are several algorithms missing in the overview of PV MPPT control methods, I think these algorithms can be roughly categorized into intelligent algorithms and deep learning algorithms, because there are many intelligent and artificial intelligence algorithms, and it is more difficult to summarize them separately.
  3. The format and quality of the pictures really need to be improved, so it has been revised. For some pictures have been replaced and reconstructed.
  4. The format and content of the table have also been revised, and some of the language has been re-conceptualized and embellished.
  5. For the high IF journals, some of the journals in my country, although they may not be so famous in the world, but they have a high impact factor in China, and they are high level journals, which are enough to support the current status of PV research in China. In addition to this I have also added some papers from high level journals.

Finally, I would like to thank you again for your review and suggestions, which not only enriched my paper, but also increased my horizons.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1. Introduction

The following text does not mention that PV panels are not recyclable and therefore, the contamination after their utilization is a potential contamination. I mean, there is always an impact on what we do.

"In this context photovoltaic power generation technology has been unprecedentedly superior development, solar energy is a kind of sustainable utilization of clean energy, the destruction of the ecological environment is weak"

2. Fig. 1

it is not easy to read the graphics, since the Y-axis says the grid is based on 10.000kW, but the amount over the bars is not mentioned if must be multiplied x10.000

3. Fig. 2

What does mean 2022e (the letter 'e')

4. Fig. 3

Parameters never defined

5. Fig. 4

Too fuzzy

6. 5. Fig. 6

Too fuzzy

7. Eq. (1) and (2)

name different indexes with the same name is not appropriate

Need to improve

Author Response

Thank you very much for reading my manuscript in your busy schedule and giving constructive comments on it, your suggestions play a vital role in improving the quality of the manuscript.

  1. For your question about the lack of potential contamination in the introduction, it has been revised.
  2. It is true that 2022e in Fig. 2 does not suggest what it represents, and this has been modified in the article, with the specific representation described in the paragraph.
  3. Figure 3 is only intended to briefly represent the equivalent circuit of a photovoltaic cell, mainly to represent the individual components, so there is no definition of the individual parameters.
  4. In addition, for the picture problem you mentioned, it has been modified, and part of the picture has been modified and reconstructed.

Finally, I would like to thank you again for your review and review suggestions, so that I can improve the quality of the paper.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Text and image quality needs to be adjusted.

In the introduction you talk about the installed capacity in GW. Is this the capacity of photovoltaic generators? Then it should be stated in GWp (GWpeak). Or is it the capacity at the output of the inverters? (GW) In figure 1 and 2 you are again comparing installed capacities. Once there is a 10000kW unit the second time is a GW. It would be better for the reader to use the same unit. Figure 3 is just a simplified model and lacks an expression of leakage current losses Rp. Figures 4, 5, 6, 10, 11,12 are of poor quality and should be cited if they are taken. What is the annealing process, algorithm? Figure 8 does not make sense. Why is BES after Energy storages equipment? Most used hydropump storage is missing from the list of storages. Even the listing of other methods is very poor. Paragraph 332-344 is in wrong font format. In the list of inverter-grid control, grid-forming, grid following I am missing.

Author Response

Thank you for taking the time to review my manuscript and make corresponding suggestions for revision. In response to your comments, I have made corresponding revisions to improve the quality of the manuscript.

  1. The installed capacity in GW units refers to the total installed capacity of PV, and the GWp you suggested I checked refers to the peak power number. In the final comparison I think GW is more appropriate.
  2. After your prompting, the units of Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 were unified. 3.
  3. Fig. 3 includes the leakage current loss Rp according to your reminder. 4.
  4. Simulated Annealing (SA) is a heuristic algorithm for solving optimization problems. It is inspired by the gradual decrease of temperature in the solid annealing process, and searches for the global optimal solution or near-optimal solution in the complex search space by randomized search and acceptance of poor solution strategies. Simulated annealing algorithms are widely used in combinatorial optimization, graph segmentation, machine learning and other fields.
  5. Figure 8 is intended to represent the photovoltaic energy storage system, which has been replaced after your suggestion.
  6. All other images have been redrawn or reconstructed.
  7. A pumped storage system has been added to the energy storage system.
  8. Finally, a summarized table has been added to the voltage control strategies link, without listing each method separately, and most of the strategies belong to one of the three ways summarized.

Finally, thank you again for your guidance, I have benefited greatly from your constructive suggestions for changes.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Some Figures are still too fuzzy, please improve before publication

Author Response

Thank you very much for your comments again, the following changes have been made in response to your comments:

  1. Fig 1 and Fig 2 changed the font size and color to make the pictures clearer.
  2. Fig 3 replaced part of the circuit to make the overall line thickness consistent.
  3. Fig 4 and Fig 5 adjusted the size of the picture and improved the clarity.

4.Fig 7 and Fig 9 are flowcharts and structure schematic diagrams with more text. Due to the reason of more text, the picture is too small which may lead to the text not being particularly clear, so the size of the picture has been adjusted and the clarity is now improved. In addition the pictures are guaranteed to be clear, zoom in to review the view to about 150% can be more clear. Want to adjust the amount of text, but this can not clearly show the structure, so did not do the number of text adjustment, just the structure, font, font size to do a certain amount of adjustment in the PDF file is still clear.

5.Fig 10 and Fig 11 made minor adjustments.

6.Fig 6, Fig 8 and Fig 12 have not been adjusted.

Thank you again for your busy schedule on the manuscript suggestions, if any other issues I will continue to modify.
