- the authors put a lot of effort into this research and writing the paper, - the title of the paper and the subject of the paper belong to the field of journal, - the subject of the work is particularly significant when it comes to the not-so-distant future, when AV and MV will take part in the traffic to a greater extent at the same time, - the central place is safety in such circumstances, - the research results presented in the paper are quantified and have a qualitative and quantitative presentation aspect Improvements in paper are possible in the following places: - at the beginning of the paper, no research hypothesis was set, so it was not possible to state in the conclusion whether it was accepted or rejected based on the research results, - trends were not taken into consideration, i.e. changes in the ratio of AVs and MVs that will be in traffic on city streets at the same time, for example, it does not matter if there are currently 95% MVs and 5% AVs in traffic and if this ratio changes in favor of AV. This relationship between artificial intelligence and natural intelligence (man) is of particular importance when changing the ratio and has a decisive influence on traffic safety, - the research results, among other things, should also be instructions for road users on how to behave in certain situations and ratios of AV and MV in traffic. Only in this way, by increasing traffic safety, does this research have purpose and meaning.

At the outset, I would like to thank the authors for the opportunity to acquaint myself with the result of their hard work. I assess the entirety of the research and the article as well-conceived and correctly executed. Importantly, the authors accurately identify the limitations of their own methodology, and thereby the study presented.

The paper effectively utilizes Multi-Agent Driving Simulation (MADS) to analyze interactions between Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) and Manually Driven Vehicles (MVs) in freeway conditions. The research methodology, including the use of various safety indicators such as acceleration noise, standard deviation of lane position, and headway, is robust and appropriately applied. The question that arises is whether, if given additional resources, the research team would decide to add more variables to improve the quality of the study?

One potential area for improvement could be in the depth of discussion regarding the implications of these findings on future roadway design and traffic management systems. As a reader, I also encountered the following two readability issues with the overall article:

·         In the table 2 "Road alignment conditions by section" are presented, but it is unclear why the individual sections in the table are described in different ways. Sometimes the length is mentioned, followed by the direction of the curve, sometimes the angle of inclination, followed by the length, and at other times the length, direction of the curve, and then the angle of inclination of the roadway.

·         Figures 1, 2, 4, and 5 are slightly too small and, as a result, illegible.
