Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper proposes a novel ISAR focusing method. The proposal is fine. Several minor modifications are required.

1. In Section 4, summarize the profiles of ISAR system in table.

2. In experimental results, is it worth showing 4th order of computation time for a specific computer?

3. Reference [37] is probably a supplemental material written in MATLAB format. Please cite the original article itself and note the format clearly.

Author Response

Dear Editors and Reviewers:

On behalf of my co-authors, we thank you very much for giving us an opportunity to revise our manuscript, we appreciate editor and reviewers very much for their positive and constructive comments and suggestions on our manuscript entitled “A Novel Inverse Synthetic Aperture Rada Imaging Method for Maneuvering Targets Based on Modified Chirp Fourier Transform”. (ID: applsci-393771).

We have studied comments carefully and have made correction which we hope meet with approval. Revised portion are marked in yellow in the paper, and give the serial number of the corresponding questions in the revised way. The main corrections in the paper and the responds to the reviewer’s comments are as flowing:

Response to Reviewer 1 Comments

Comment 1: In Section 4, summarize the profiles of ISAR system in table

Response 1:  We have summarized the profiles of ISAR system in Table 2.

Comment 2: In experimental results, is it worth showing 4th order of computation time for a specific computer?

Response 2: This is the running time calculated by using Matlab. The system is reserved to the 4th order decimal point, so we did not modify it. In fact, from the results of the table, it can be seen that the efficiency of different algorithms in a separate table can be explained by keeping the third order decimal point. However, it is meaningful to reserve  4th order in Table 4. and Table 5 for  RD algorithm. It can explain the efficiency of RD algorithm in different data quantities.

Point 3: Reference [37] is probably a supplemental material written in MATLAB format. Please cite the original article itself and note the format clearly.

Response 3: We have added another reference [37].

In addition , we have carried out a detailed inspection of english language and style. We appreciate for editors and reviewers’ warm work earnestly, and hope that the correction will meet with approval.

Once again, thank you very much for your comments and suggestions.

Thank you and best regards.

Yours sincerely,

Reviewer 2 Report

In general, the manuscript is well written and it seems technically sound.

Some typos:

Line 212. Meaning of "gamma" in equation (4) should appears in the text

Line 276. Error! Bookmark not defined.,36

Line 331. "DCFT was used to estimate the peak values of the 112th, 122th, 128th, and 133th range cells" ("th" in all numbers should be superscripted or not, but not both)

Figure 8. Axis labels sould have the same font size and also the peak values

Line 361. "radon Wigner" should be "Radon-Wigner". Also should be fixed in Figure 13
