Experimental study on the coal damage characteristics of adsorption-instantaneous pressure relief in the coal containing gases with different adsorption characteristics

- Changang Du et al.

Manuscript ID: applsci-634637

Summary: The article presents damage characteristics of multi-gas in briquette adsorption-instantaneous pressure relief system. Furthermore, the coal adsorption expansion deformation and instantaneous pressure relief deformation are quantified.

General comments: The reviewer feels that the results presented adds to the efforts in quantification of coal body adsorption-instantaneous pressure relief deformation. The authors have reported sufficient references to previous work in the introduction section, and have presented the methodology very well. Hence, this article may be considered for publication, provided the recommended changes are made. My specific comments are provided below.

Specific comments:

Line 47: “It is particular…” must read “It is of particular significance…”

Line 54: “Clarkson C R…” must read “Clarkson and Bustin [32]…..”

Line 64, provide citation to the Langmuir model.

Line 75, “Battistutta E…..” must read “Battistutta E. [47]”

Line 75, “Lehua Xu…..” must read “Lehua Xu. [48]”

Line 82, “….both in China and oversea,” must read “..China and overseas,”

Section 3.3.1. The compression deformation characteristics against pressure for various gases are provided in Figures 10-12. A curve fit for the documented strain ranges in these plots will enable to understand the strain rates with respect to pressure.

Reviewer 2 Report

This is a well-written manuscript. I have no objections to the technical content.
However, there are a few comments to the text editing page, among others:

some drawings should follow their appointment full name of parameters should be placed in table 1,  part of text from chapter 3 describing methods should be shifted to chapter 2  and some others pointed in attached manuscript.I recommend this manuscript for publication in Applied Sciences.
