Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear authors

The study empirically analyses the relationship between the misallocation of production factors and higher-order development of the agricultural sector for 154 Chinese cities in the period 2004-2020. Careful and careful analysis appears to have yielded significant results, but some minor revisions should be made.

In a number of places in the manuscript, there is a period and a single square margin that should be at the beginning of the sentence. This is the case, for example, in line 37, "further analysis. Some scholoar". The entire manuscript should be checked to eliminate such typos.

“where" in line 151 should not be indented down. The same applies to the rest of the text.

The low resolution of Fig. 1 makes it difficult to read the differences between the curves. Figure 1 should be made easier to read by adding even a few enlarged figures of specific sections.

In the conclusion, mention the limitations of this study.

Sincerely.

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper analysis factor misallocation and agricultural economy high-quality, which is interesting and profound, but there still exist some question to be solved.

1. I suppose this paper exist main contribution of spatial spillover effect, while this paper show another part refer to nonlinear relationship, there may exist coincide, please rearrange the relationship.

2. Figure in this paper is not clear

3. the regression coffecient in [] should be t value

Reviewer 3 Report

This research presents a multidimensional, methodologically verified study. The hypotheses put forward by the authors are empirically substantiated.

Point 1. In the abstract of the paper, the authors should add a research method and strengthen the findings thus the reader has a more complete picture of the research.

Point 2. In the "Theoretical Analysis" section, the authors should review theoretical and empirical studies on this theme; determine whether there are similar papers, what results were obtained in previous studies, how this study differs from previous ones.

Point 3. Equation (1) lacks a spatial lag in error.

Point 4. Why was the SDM and not the SDEM model chosen? (according to Table 4)

The authors should carefully check grammar, word repetitions, and typos (“the cobb-douglas (C-D) form”, “moran index” and others). Long sentences are best broken down into several shorter ones.

Reviewer 4 Report

1. In the introduction, it is recommended to clearly highlight the motivation and purpose of the study.

2. The theoretical substantiation of the research hypotheses in Section 2 can be strengthened by the macroeconomic models of Barro, Romer, Harrod-Domar, Krugman and other well-known scientists.

3. The quality of the figures in this manuscript can be improved.
