Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The described sensor configuration methodolgy is very interesting.

My comments are:

- The resulting sensor configuration, mainly the sensor number, was obtained using data measured from an initial sensor configuration along one month in winter. How do you expect that such configuration be performing for the variables measuring all year long? Would it be enough the resulting number of sensors in other season when higher variable change be presented?

- The variables measuring of the resulted sensor configuration is validated by comparing its performance with the initial sensor configuration. In order to highlight the described contribution I suggest to include how was the initial sensor configuration defined. Why is the reason that the system contained 22 THSs?

- The temperature and humidity variables are considered as two independent parameters in the optimization of the THSs configuration(line 209-201). Are really the behaviors of these two parameters not completely correlated?

- I suggest to include the sampling frequency for both variables, mesuarement period of time. were the measurements made through all day and night long?

- The validation results of THS configurations are depicted in Table wrongly labeled as 6, must be 4.

- I am guessing that the analysis to determine the temperature and humidity heterogeneity in the case of north south vertical direction is done from 8x7880 sets of temperature and humidity data. If so, please include such information.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Although I would have appreciated some response from the authors to my comments, I think the paper may be of interest.
