Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This manuscript describes the development and testing of Internet of Things technology to record and analyze feeding behaviour of lactating sows in a production environment. The manuscript is well written and provides sufficient detail, discussion, and appropriate conclusions.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript describes an innovative research and it is well written and clearly structured.

Maybe the title could be enhanced to better clarify that the Authors developed a smart IoT feeding system for lactating sows. In fact in the current title the work of innovation development carried out looks underestimated.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The research object and methodology are presented in great detail. However, it is not clear how feed and water consumption was determined for each sow individually.

Data on sow lactation, piglet weaning, feed and water intake are provided. The data is interesting, but the data analysis performed is more like a statistical analysis of the data than a scientific discussion. There is a great lack of deeper data analysis that would provide new knowledge about the feeding process and help discover ideas on how to optimize the feeding process.

An up-to-date engineering IT system for research, data collection and analysis of the feeding process has been created. The article was submitted to the journal Agriculture, so we would like more information not about the technical parameters of the developed engineering system, but about the results of its use, analyzing and optimizing the process of feeding sows.

How was the statistical reliability of the obtained data assessed?
