Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Weakness of paper
1.    Why isn’t the model of method VOF presented in the paper? Why are mass conservation equation and momentum equation presented in general view for compressible fluid? If it was modeled incompressible fluid how was the solving the momentum equation of the mixture realized for incompressible fluid? Please provide governing equations.
2.    How the inlet turbulence values have been chosen? How do these values affect the results? Have you performed a sensitivity analysis? What about y+? Better elaborate on its influence.
3.    There are several typo in the paper.
Line 131 – 3.8 million or Fig.4 – 380 million?
Line 150 – Figure 21
Line 206 – In ‘n’ the continuance stage (0.8s-1.0s),
Line 333 – ‘in the experiment, In the experiment, it is found that the’

4.    What is the application of this work? Briefly talk about the result and the implication of the result in the abstract. What is ‘the optimal design for the prototype pump’? Please discuss how the findings in this work relate to existing studies in this area. The authors should present the key contribution of this manuscript clearly and illustrate the importance of this study.
5.    In the used test rig, the measuring devices used in the experiment should be described clearly with inserting the accuracy of each one. How many times the experiments are repeated?  How much is the error percentage?  What about the standard deviation? Provide the statistical analysis?
6.    What will happen after the disappearance stage? Will the curve of the pressure have the constant character or periodical?
