Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors have shown great care in presenting the material succinctly and in a way that will contribute to the corpus in a variety of contexts.  A lot of material has been gathered from the small sample selected.  Thank you.

Reviewer 2 Report

I appreciate the article.  As a qualitative study, it has suggestive findings. It provides a fine beginning for additional research. The study is well constructed, follows excellent ethical procedures, and reports well.  My only concern is that I would say more about the fact that the study is of “lapsed” people which began with participants in atheist group.  It would be more helpful to reader to know this in a footnote at the beginning of the study and also note as a qualitative study it suggests next steps in research about this important topic.  In fact, I would appreciate a final section on next steps for research. Both of these would enhance a fine article. We’ll done.
