Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors presented a Numerical simulation of turbulent flow structure and particle deposition in a three-dimensional heat transfer duct with convex dimples. The paper is generally well prepared and the results are interesting. It can be accepted after addressing the following comments:

The main quantitative findings are to be mentioned in the abstract.

The novelty of the paper is to be clearly stated.

It is better to present the description of the studied configuration before the mathematical formulation and numerical method.

The used turbulence model is to be justified.

Why is the buoyancy force neglected? To be justified.

The thermal boundary conditions are to be expressed mathematically.

What is the considered range for Reynold number.

The numerical method is to be detailed.

What is the convergence criterion?

What do you mean by Memory utilization is minimal? To be explained.

What is the time needed to reach the stationary state?

A figure presenting the 3D mesh is to be added.

A 2D or 3D (flow structure) verification is to be performed.

Results related to the temperature field are to be added and discussed.

The English level needs to be improved.
