Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The MDEA proposed in this paper achieves excellent performance, and I believe that the synthesis algorithm is beneficial. However, since this has only been confirmed by numerical analysis, I think it is necessary to perform experimental verification and then add the performance comparison table with previous reports.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Editorial comments:
- The reviewer encourages the authors to use the very powerful LaTeX typesetting language to prepare the revised version of their manuscript, especially due to the high amount of mathematical content. Please see the information at:
https://www.mdpi.com/authors/latex
- A Roman type (upright) e should be used for Euler's number, since it is a fixed constant, not a usual variable. See also: https://www.iupac.org/cms/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ICTNS-On-the-use-of-italic-and-roman-fonts-for-symbols-in-scientific-text.pdf
In LaTeX, the reviewer suggests to use the following code in the LaTeX preamble:
% exponential function
\DeclareMathOperator{\e}{e}
\renewcommand{\exp}[1]{\e^{#1}}
and then something like $\exp{x}$ in the running text.
- A Roman type (upright) j should be used for the imaginary unit, since it is a fixed constant, not a usual variable. See also: https://www.iupac.org/cms/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ICTNS-On-the-use-of-italic-and-roman-fonts-for-symbols-in-scientific-text.pdf
In LaTeX, the reviewer suggests to use the following code in the LaTeX preamble:
% command for the imaginary unit
\newcommand{\imagunit}{\mathrm{j}}
- Fig. 1: Such figures should be inserted as a vector graphic, not as a raster graphic, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raster_graphics and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_graphics for a discussion on this.
- Figure 1 seems to have some mouse hover overlay with Chinese letters or symbols.
- Indexes or superscripts in mathematical formulas that contain abbreviations (like 'abs' for 'absolute value' in P_abs) are always written in Roman type, upright letters, not in slanted letters (Italics). See: https://www.iupac.org/cms/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ICTNS-On-the-use-of-italic-and-roman-fonts-for-symbols-in-scientific-text.pdf
- Mathematical functions like log, sin, cos, max, min, diag, fft, phase, rand, grad, div, rot, exp etc. with a fixed meaning are always written in Roman type, upright letters, not in slanted letters (Italics). See: https://www.iupac.org/cms/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/ICTNS-On-the-use-of-italic-and-roman-fonts-for-symbols-in-scientific-text.pdf
- A variable name or symbol name should not consist of more than one letter. E.g. instead of the symbol 'AF' for the 'array factor', one should use the symbol F for factor and place the additional information about the nature of this quantity into the index as in 'F_ant'. The problem with symbols of several letters like AF is that it is not clear if 'AF' is the same as 'A * F' in classical formula typesetting. If a symbol of several letters has to be used for any reason, Roman type (upright) letters should be used for clarification.
- Please use a real minus sign (slightly longer dash) instead of a (shorter) hyphen to represent a negative number.
- Please insert a non-breaking space between the number and the following unit to avoid a line break at this position, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-breaking_space.
- When giving a range of quantities, please write e.g. '1 GHz to 8 GHz' instead of '1 to 8 GHz'.
- Please replace '-' by 'to' to define a range. The '-' could be misinterpreted as a minus sign.

Scientific questions:
- Can the authors provide some more details on the simulation method (software, numerical algorithm, solver, memory requirements, ...).
