Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript entitled “Urine Oxidative Stress Biomarkers as Novel Biomarkers in Interstitial Cystitis/ Bladder Pain Syndrome” is a clinical study to investigate the role of oxidative stress biomarkers in patients with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome. The clinical study is well designed. The conclusions and limitations of the study are adequately addressed.

The manuscript is recommended for publication in the Biomedicines after minor revision.

Please consider the following suggestions and corrections:

Lines 3, 24, 44: Do not leave a space around /: cystitis/bladder

Line 46 and throughout the text: In the text, reference numbers should be placed in square brackets [ ], and placed before the punctuation; for example [1], [1–3] or [1,3].

Lines 59-60: an important role    instead of    important an role

Line 87: European Society for the Study of Interstitial Cystitis 92 (ESSIC) instead of   ESSIC

Line 92: ESSIC    instead of    European Society for the Study of Interstitial Cystitis 92 (ESSIC)

Line 124: add City, Country after Enzo

Line 125: add City, Country after Abcam

Line 164, Table 1: Leave a space before and after mathematical operators that function as verbs or conjunctions; that is, they have numbers on both sides or a symbol for a variable on one side and a number on the other. E. g., N = 42; 56.9 ± 10.9; MBC ≧ 760 mL

mL instead of ml.

Adjust the table format as in the template. Check the Journal Instructions for Authors for more details. Do the same for tables 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Lines 165-169: Customise a table footer as in the template.

Lines 213-216: This is still a brief description of the picture and should be continued in line 212. Do not put in bold.

Line 237: odds ratio (OR) instead of OR

Line 245: add CI, confidence interval.

Line 268: role    instead of    roles

Line 358: Manuscript must contain the required sections: Funding Information, Author Contributions, Conflict of Interest and other Ethics Statements. Check the Journal Instructions for Authors for more details.

Lines 359 – 363: Match font: Palatino Linotype, size: 9

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors presented a clinical study on the oxidative stress biomarkers as a diagnostic tool for interstitial cystitis/ bladder pain syndrome.

The manuscript is well written, clear and well organized.

This study seem highly relevant in the field and I do believe that it is ready for publication.

Only minor corrections are necessary, as below:

Line 59 - "...to have important an role..." should be "to have an important role"
