Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Very good paper.

As a recommendation: some paragraphs could be reformulated. And in the bibliography some reference are old.

Reviewer 2 Report

The novelty of presented research (this study reports the distribution of heating gun ends through numerical simulations and experimental measurments) and it's importance for the scientific community are on average. The introduction still need to provide some more references, specifically comparing to other polymer processing technologies. The research methodology is adequate. The results presented can be improved. The conclusions also need to be re-written in a text form ad not sintetized in bullets. English language and style are fine.

Overall, this manuscript needs a careful revision according to the following points:

Generally "Heating gun heating process" does not sound good. Please change all occorrunces like this.

line 11 - define FDS

line 14 to 17 - sentence should be shortned/divided

line 18 to 21 - sentence should be shortned/divided

line 33 - give some references for research of extrusion and injection molding, e.g.

Modeling of plasticating injection molding - experimental assessment (https://doi.org/10.3139/217.2862)
Development and validation of a model for the temperature distribution in the extrusion calibration stage (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.applthermaleng.2016.01.166)

line 47 and line 48 - both sentences start with However, please change one of them

line 48 to 54 - sentence should be shortned/divided

line 92: what means "the total number of meshes is 100,000"? Is the total number of cells/elements in the mesh?

line 120: temper-ature should be temperature (other words are like this in the text)

line 123: repeated sentence

line 133: simulate the simulation is not good english

line 200 to 203: some of the variables were already defined before, please remove the repeated definitions

line 214: In table 1 the exponents of the units are not in superscript

line 219: Join to the earlier paragraph.

line 269: Can you explain the negative temperatures shown in the legend of Figs. 14?

line 306: In table 2 the exponents of the units are not in superscript

line 461: The conclusions section should be writen as a text and not in bullets, please construct a fully connected text.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

The conclusion section should be re-written. You should not have isolated sentences with detached ideas. Please connect the sentences and ideas.
