Design of Soft-Sensing Model for Alumina Concentration Based on Improved Deep Belief Network
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
This paper was well-written and has certain novelties. Some minor comments are listed as follows to help improve this paper better:
1. There were Chinese characters in Fig. 8 which should be modified.
2. It would be better to add some comparison experimental studies on the existing soft sensing model methods.
3. Format of References should be carefully checked.

Reviewer 2 Report
In this paper, a soft sensing model of alumina concentration based on deep belief network (DBN) is proposed. The topic is interesting and the technical contributions of this paper are sufficient to justify its publication in this Journal. The reviewer read carefully and has following comments.
1. The state of the art should be extended with more recent references.
2. The conclusions should be extended and explained with more details.
3. The discussion of future work could be improved.
4. Every equation should be explained more clearly, please provide paragraphs for achieving this.
5. I suggest to include more experimental results.
6. The main motivation is not clearly explained, why this work is important?
7. The quality of language could be improved for the benefit of readability.

Reviewer 3 Report
1. In the introduction, soft sensor modeling methods are discussed in detail, but there is not much discussion on the current situation of alumina concentration measurement, which is a problem studied in this manuscript. It is suggested to enrich this aspect.
2. In the Data acquisition, many technological processes are introduced, which is not helpful to the creativity of the manuscript.
3. The differences between EMD-PSO-DBN and DBN can not be seen from the discussion of test results, and the depth of analysis and discussion is not enough.
