Dear Authors,

 

A literature review for problem definition is sufficient.
Many improvements have been made on GA in the literature. According to these improvements, the novelty, if any, should be mentioned in terms of literature.

Make it clear with using parenthesis in Eq. 11.

The same operation must be represented by the same symbol. Or what is the * operator in Eq. 30.
Check the equations.

Make a detailed comment the paragraph between 384 to 398 with a suplementary file. 
You don't know which 8 bit pattern is the best solution at first, and you search for it.
Could you be limiting your search space with what you're doing with interfering? How is it different from choosing the search space smaller?
You mentioned specific strings. What are they? How do you determine?
If you use string (pattern) recognition in GA iterations, it will be slow. Wouldn't it be better instead to make new attempts to search for the global minimum unknown space?
Please explain in detail.

In Fig 3. "Convert binary to decimal values" connected to "Calculate the criterion FECR" also "Simulation procedure of ECS" which return to same where.
Is it in initialization phase or in a loop. Which time brach out? Please explain it?

The article is very good. The article  presents the current problems of optimization of environmental control systems. The literature provided is sufficient. Research methodology and presentation of results is sufficient. The summary clearly emphasizes the undertaken aim of the research and the obtained results. Congratulations.

This study has some valuable information regarding with thermodynamic optimization of aircraft environmental control system using modified genetic algorithms. However, I think that this paper has major revision for publication. Hence, propose conditional acceptance with major revision.

The authors should improve the manuscript based on the following comments:

  1. The English, punctuation, and grammar need to be corrected in nearly every paragraph!
  2. More optimization techniques for aircraft environmental control should be presented in the introduction section. Hence, this section should be increased!
  3. In the case of the developed algorithm, the authors indicate the genetic parameters. There is no description of the selection method for the parental population.! Also, what was the probability of mutation and crossover? Was the fitness function scaled? Was the optimization single or multi-criteria? If the latter, what was the Pareto coefficient? The optimization results should be compared with another optimization method!
  4. Page 4, line 161 wrong order of subsections!
  5. The authors did not indicate the software they used?.
  6. A more extensive set of results should be obtained to demonstrate the benefit of your optimization!
