Comments and Suggestions for Authors

·       The authors should concentrate on the introduction, which lacks a comprehensive literature review that places the study within the broader context of existing research on GRA models.

·       The objectives of the study are not explicitly stated, making it difficult to understand the specific goals and contributions of the research.

·       The methodology section needs more detailed explanations of the modifications made to the original Deng’s GRA model and the rationale behind these modifications.

·       Comparative analysis with other clustering methods would strengthen the validation of the modified model.

·       The references section should be updated to include the latest relevant research and ensure proper formatting according to the journal's guidelines.

·       The practical implications of the study's findings, particularly in the context of water environment assessment, need to be discussed in greater detail.

·       The performance testing results are presented, but the discussion on why the original model failed and how the modified model improves upon it could be expanded.

·       The data preprocessing steps are briefly mentioned but need more detailed explanations and justifications.

·       Include novelty and motivation behind the work.

·  The results section lacks detailed analysis. Providing more in-depth statistical analysis, comparison with other studies, and discussing the implications of the findings would strengthen this section

Suggest future research directions and potential applications of the findings.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Dear the authors,

1. The introduction provides a comprehensive overview of Deng's grey relational analysis model and its applications. However, there is no novelty and significance of this study.

2. And the novelty and significance of the proposed modifications could be better emphasized. Please clearly articulate how the modified model differs from and improves upon existing models. This will help readers quickly grasp the significance of the study.

3. This paper explains the modifications made to the original GRA model. Please include a more detailed explanation of how the modifications enhance the model's performance, especially for readers who cannot be familiar with the mathematical intricacies.

4. The data preprocessing step is essential for ensuring the model's accuracy but is described somewhat briefly. Please expand on the reasons for choosing the preprocessing techniques and discuss any potential limitations or alternative methods that were considered.

5. The results are presented clearly, with scatter plots and tables illustrating the model's performance. However, the discussion could benefit from a more critical analysis of the results. Please compare the performance of the modified model with other methods in more detail, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses. This will provide a more balanced view of the model's effectiveness.

6. Please consider adding annotations or explanations directly on the figures to guide the reader through the data being presented. This will make the visual information more accessible.

-      Comparison of Figures 1-4

-      Description of Tables 6 and 7

7. Because the flow of the paper is complex, the formula and text need to be separated. The expression method of Definitions 1-3 needs to be changed.

8. Many equations are shown in this paper. These equations need to be clarified. Also, it must be explained in detail why these formulas are needed and to what process they are applied.

9. The conclusion effectively summarizes the study's findings but could be more forward-looking. The authors should add a brief discussion on future research directions or potential improvements to the modified model. This will help position the study within the broader context of ongoing research.

Comments on the Quality of English Language

1. Please simplify sentences by removing unnecessary words to enhance readability.

For example, "It is clearly seen from Table 7 that..." can be simplified to "Table 7 clearly shows that..."

2. The authors should use clear explanations for technical terms and maintain consistent terminology throughout the paper. The authors should use "Deng’s GRA model" consistently after defining it instead of repeating the full term.
