Comments and Suggestions for Authors

In this paper, an athermal and apochromatic design method for optical systems with long focal length, large relative aperture, and wide spectrum based on 3D glass diagram is proposed. The feasibility of this method is verified by a specific design case. However, this paper must be revised following under comments before  being considered publication in Photonics.

1.The method that using 3D glass diagram to eliminate chromatic aberration, secondary spectrum, and thermal aberration has been proposed for some time now. What difference between this paper and other published articles ,such as reference 22.

2. Please explain the reason of the conclusion in 3.3:For an optical system with uncorrected aberrations of three types, the greater the distance from the replacement lens group to the line , the higher potential exists for selecting a lens material to correct these three types of aberrations.and “For a system with uncorrected aberrations, correction points Lc that simultaneously eliminates three types of aberrations can be calculated for different replacement lens group . The greater the distance from Lj to Lc , the higher potential exists for the replacement lens group to correct all three types of aberrations. ”

3. What are the physical meanings of the three axes in Figure 8?

4. Please present Figure 7 in the form of a table.

5. Please carefully revise the language, the readability of the paper is too poor.
