Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors provide account of a 2021 symposium, organised through CORESTA, focusing upon the application of new approach methodologies (NAM) within the safety assessment of alternative tobacco/nicotine-containing products. Various aspects relating to this endeavour are explored, across the course of seven presentations and a panel discussion.

The quality of the scientific content on display is very high, featuring as it does contributions from a range of regarded experts. Furthermore, the standard of presentation (including writing) is superior. As such, I can recommend acceptance with minor corrections – the great majority being only stylistic/linguistic. These are presented alongside text within the PDF.
