Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article is very well written and consists of valuable data for a better understudying of the global warming effects on the fish biology and ichthyofauna structure in the sea.

I found only minor problems as follows:

Line 125 – 151 – bold, please change it.

Figure 2, 3 and 4 unnecessary dots at the end

References:

2 – the year should be in bold

40, 41, 42, 70 – citations need to be completed with information (editors, year of publication, title etc.)

Author Response

R1: Line 125 – 151 – bold, please change it.

Author: Done, it was formatted as requested by the journal

R1: Figure 2, 3 and 4 unnecessary dots at the end

Author: Done

R1: References:

Author: All list of references were checked and the established format of the journal was followed

R1: 40, 41, 42, 70 – citations need to be completed with information (editors, year of publication, title etc.)

Author: There was a problem with these citations as they were counted doble. We have fixed this.

Reviewer 2 Report

Abstract: In line 22, Only one species will be affected greatly, not others?

1. Introduction: no comment

2. Regulation of fish reproduction: no comment

3. Influence of temperature in fish reproduction: no comment

4. Effects of rising temperature in fish reproduction: In the section 4.1, why everything is on bold?

Line 127, why underline the degree sign?

5. Case study: In section 5.2, line 124, 1998-1993, is this correct?, if not please change.

In line 252, No space between table and text. check whole manuscript for similar things.

Author Response

R2: Abstract: In line 22, Only one species will be affected greatly, not others?

Author: We have rewritten the last phrase to make it more clearly. Now it reads:

"Also, if the level of fishing exploitation enhances species' sensitivity to environmental changes, then the stock of red grouper Epinephelus morio would be more affected by temperature increases than other species because it is the only fish population in the Campeche Bank currently assessed as overexploited"

1. Introduction: no comment

2. Regulation of fish reproduction: no comment

3. Influence of temperature in fish reproduction: no comment

4. Effects of rising temperature in fish reproduction: In the section 4.1, why everything is on bold?

Author: It was an error on the format, but we have corrected it accordingly

R2: Line 127, why underline the degree sign?

Author: Yes, there was different symbols for the degree sign, but we have corrected all of these

R2: 5. Case study: In section 5.2, line 124, 1998-1993, is this correct?, if not please change.

Author: Indeed there was a mistake in the years, and were corrected as follow: 1988- 1993

R2: In line 252, No space between table and text. check whole manuscript for similar things.

Author: We have corrected all the spaces throughout the text

6. Conclusions: no comment
