Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors here have written an extensive, thorough review identifying the complexities of HH and the variability in guidelines in the diseases management with over 250 references.

Recommend minor adjustments as below:

Line 58- should read spread not spreads

Line 266- preferred term now is classical/non malignant hematological disorders not benign

Line 663- staging has .. after it. seems incomplete.

Line 681- should read refer not referred

Line 742 should read in not

Additionally given how extensive ad detailed the paper is, suggest using small boxes/paragraphs citing "key Take away points" at regular intervals in the article summarizing specific key parts of the article. this may help readers overall get more out of the article.

Also a summary algorithm showing diagnosis and first line management may further enhance the article for viewers.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

After an introduction section summarizing the main symptoms and situation of discovery of hereditary hemochromatosis , this extensive narrative review analyze for both diagnostic , treatment and follow-up, the 6 main guideline in the topic showing wisely their similarity but also their discrepancy. I just suggest checking the English language by a native translator.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

It is detailed and well written review on HFE-related hereditary hemochromatosis

I have only minor remarks:

Ferroportin is a transmembrane protein that transports iron from the inside of intestinal epithelial cell to the outside of the cell. Therefore, I am not sure that the phrase “Iron is absorbed at the intestinal level by ferroportin” is precise enough (Page 5).

“majour guidelines” instead of major guidelines (Page 5)

Information on infections owing to immune paresis are scarce and radiological signs of  of arthropathy are missing (Page 10).

It has been told that long intervals between phlebotomies in the maintenance phase may suggest bleeding fron small bowel, while large bowel is most common site of chronic bleeding (Page 17)
