Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The manuscript presents results of the study in pregnancy complications on telomere length in 10-12 years old children. It was well planned and carried out. The study included a huge number of children and is a longitudinal study. Well done.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This study assesses the telomere length from whole blood samples of 841 Australian children (age of 10-12 years) from mothers (27.1%) with gestional complications (DM, HTA, preterm, small/large in relation to gestional age) corresponding part of mothers with pregnancies (73.9%) without gestional complications. No statistically significant differences in the mean telomere length between both groups were observed.

The testing and statistical analysis were carefully performed. Telomere length results from blood clot samples were excluded from the analysis.

The results are compared with the limited literature in the field and thoroughly discussed. Overall, the manuscript ads valuable information in a field were still a lot of work has to be performed.

I have no criticism to present.
