Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Agriculture was a major development in human history, leading to the rise of civilizations. It plays a critical role in human society, serving as the backbone of economic systems. Modern agriculture provides the raw materials for food and many industrial products, including textiles. Significant scientific and technological advances over the years have led to the proliferation of agricultural productivity, while simultaneously minimizing its environmental impacts. Nevertheless, agricultural systems of the future face immense challenges in terms of balancing and optimizing their productivity and profitability against the stewardship of ecosystems and natural resources.
The MDPI journal Agriculture, a peer-reviewed open access international journal of MDPI, has announced the first International Online Conference on Agriculture—Research Achievements and Challenges (IOCAG2023), which will be held online (Sciforum) from 1 to 15 November 2023. One of the main aims of this e-conference is to promote research and collaboration in agricultural science and technology.
To celebrate IOCAG2023 and the appeal for the most advanced research in the field, Agriculture will dedicate one Special Issue to the conference, with a 20% discount on the Article Processing Charges (APC). All participants of IOCAG2022 are invited to submit a full paper to this Special Issue. Specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Ecosystem, Environment and Climate Change in Agriculture;
- Agricultural Systems and Management;
- Agricultural Soils;
- From Field to Consumers: Challenges and Approaches to High-Quality Agricultural Products;
- Agricultural Water Management;
- Artificial Intelligence for Advanced Analyses in Agriculture;
- Breeding for Sustainable Agriculture Intensification in a Changing World;
- Climate-Smart Agriculture: Practices, Determinants, Productivity and Efficiency;
- Crop Production;
- Poster Session.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue
- Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
- Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
- Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
- External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
- e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
