Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Agricultural products are highly nutritious and provide significant benefits for human health. They are also highly perishable and are thus easily susceptible to spoilage, leading to reduced quality attributes and consequent food loss. Over the years, cold chain technologies have been employed to reduce the quality loss of fruits and vegetables from farm to fork. However, many losses still occur during the packaging, pre-cooling, transportation, and storage of these fresh agricultural products. On the other hand, due to growing concerns about food safety and environmental issues, a major goal for the postharvest handling of agricultural products should emphasise both the effective preservation of the quality attributes, and the use of appropriate technologies that are considered safe with low, or no, adverse environmental impacts.
This Special Issue aims to cover the recent advances in the maintenance of agricultural product quality. We highly encourage papers that focus on new sustainable production practices, the innovative use of technology, quality evaluation, sustainability, consumer attitude, and creative product development in all steps of the production and distribution chain.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Agriculture is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
