Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The urinary system is central to animal health, impacting various physiological processes and susceptibly to various pathological conditions. Understanding the anatomy and physiology of the urinary system across different species provides critical insights that enhance our ability to effectively diagnose, treat, and prevent diseases. This Special Issue of Animals aims to compile a comprehensive collection of articles that provide new insights into the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the urinary system across various animal species. Topics of interest include, but are not restricted to, the following:

  • Innovative research on the anatomical structures and physiological mechanisms of the urinary system across various animal species.
  • Studies on the pathogenesis and progression of urinary diseases in domestic and wild animals.
  • Advances in diagnostic techniques for detecting urinary system disorders in animals.
  • Treatment and management strategies for common and complex urinary diseases.
  • Pathophysiology of urinary disorders in a range of animals, from pets to livestock to wildlife.
  • Preventative healthcare measures.
  • Nutrition of animals with renal disease.
  • Inflammatory disease and cancer.
  • Hereditary and congenital diseases.
  • Case studies and clinical reports on innovative treatments or new insights into urinary system diseases.

Through this Special Issue, we aim to provide veterinarians and researchers with the latest insights and developments, enhancing theoretical knowledge and practical application.

This Special Issue is devoted to all themes related to urinary system in companions, livestock, and wildlife in the form of reviews, original research manuscripts, short communications of preliminary but significant results, reviews, and case reports.

Benefits of Publishing in a Special Issue

  • Ease of navigation: Grouping papers by topic helps scholars navigate broad scope journals more efficiently.
  • Greater discoverability: Special Issues support the reach and impact of scientific research. Articles in Special Issues are more discoverable and cited more frequently.
  • Expansion of research network: Special Issues facilitate connections among authors, fostering scientific collaborations.
  • External promotion: Articles in Special Issues are often promoted through the journal's social media, increasing their visibility.
  • e-Book format: Special Issues with more than 10 articles can be published as dedicated e-books, ensuring wide and rapid dissemination.
