10th Anniversary

The year 2021 marks the 10th anniversary of Antibiotics, a peer-reviewed open access journal on antibiotics. Antibiotics has published more than 1500 papers from more than 8500 authors. We value the contributions made by authors and reviewers. To celebrate this 10th anniversary, we are arranging a series of special content and events. We hope you can join us in celebrating this milestone for our journal and enjoy the collection below.

The inaugural issue is released, and Antibiotics is published as a quarterly journal.



Founding Editor-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Christopher C. Butler



Antibiotics is indexed by Scopus (Elsevier), PubMed (NLM), and Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI, Web of Science). Full-text papers are archived in the US National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) PubMed Central (PMC).

Antibiotics launches its first edition of Travel Awards.

Indexed by the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE – Web of Science) and BIOSIS Previews (Web of Science).

Antibiotics received the first Impact Factor of 2.921. The journal ranks 40/89 (Q2) in the “Infectious Diseases” category and 109/267 (Q2) in the ‘Pharmacology & Pharmacy’ category.

Prof. Dr. Nicholas Dixon serve as Editor-in-Chief



Antibiotics received an Impact Factor of 3.893. The journal ranks 23/93 (Q1) in ‘Infectious Diseases' and 64/270 (Q1) in ‘Pharmacology & Pharmacy’.

Antibiotics adopted a monthly publication schedule;
Antibiotics announced the first edition of three awards: Best Paper Award, Reviewer Award and Young Investigator Award.
