Biomass/Wastes Energy and Environment

Dear Colleagues,

Bioenergy will play a more important role in addressing carbon emissions in the near future, in particular, for the oil and gas markets. However, major disputes, such as food supply security, environmental, and ecological uncertainties with associated biodiversity have been noted by politicians, scientists, and the public. These disputes may significantly hinder technical and political bioenergy development. Meanwhile energy recovery from bio-energetic wastes and plastic/tyre wastes may lead to environmental issues.

The scope of this Special Issue includes:

• Biomass/wastes energy technology:
• Gaseous fuels;
• Liquid fuels;
• Solid fuels;
• Biochar and biochar-based material/fertilizer;
• Algae energy/environment.

• Process modeling and simulation.
• Environmental and carbon emissions issues, assessment, and policy development.
• Biomass/wastes energy and environmental perspectives.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
