Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Compounds of synthetic origin are widely used in cosmetics. A large proportion of raw materials of synthetic origin are effective. Nowadays, we observe a tendency for manufacturers to produce natural cosmetics that have beneficial properties for the body. Natural cosmetic formulas are produced in a sustainable development process, ensuring not only safe effects for the skin but also for the environment. Eco-production uses trends related to upcycling, less water usage, zero waste and fair trade. They are often considered gentler and safer for the skin compared to synthetic ingredients, and many consumers are willing to pay a higher price for natural and organic cosmetics. As part of this endeavor, this Special Issue includes research and review articles by researchers working on comparing the effectiveness of synthetic and natural cosmetics.
