Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Gender and precision medicine aims to offer "the right treatment to the right patient at the right time". In cardiovascular medicine, the potential of gender medicine applies to all stages of disease development. It includes risk prediction, preventative measures, and targeted therapeutic approaches. Gender medicine will benefit from new developments in the area of genomics and other omics, but it equally heavily depends on established biomarkers, functional tests, and imaging.
The body of sex-specific data has grown, in addition to updated hypertension, cholesterol, diabetes, atrial fibrillation, and primary prevention guidelines. Major studies summarize recommendations pertinent to women. We welcome original papers and review articles that focus on the molecular/cellular research of gender medicine. In this Special Issue, the authors address special topics, particularly the risk factors and treatments that have led to some controversies and confusion.
