2011 Cardiogenetics inaugural issue was released and Journal Sections were established by PAGEPress.
2015 Cardiogenetics was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
2020 Publication of Cardiogenetics was transferred to MDPI (new owner) from Volume 10 Issue 2 (2020).
2022 Cardiogenetics established the following section:
  • Sport Cardiology
2023 Cardiogenetics received its first Impact Factor (0.6).
2025 Cardiogenetics was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
Cardiogenetics received its first CiteScore (2024) of 1.4.
2026 -Rare Disease-Genetic Syndromes and Rare Disease-Metabolic Diseases were merged with Rare Disease-Neuromuscular Diseases to create a new section Rare Cardiovascular Disorders.
-Molecular Genetics and Biomarkers were merged with Animal Models to create a new section Molecular & Translational Genetics.
-Inherited Heart Disease-Children, Inherited Aortic Disease and Sport Cardiology were merged with Cardiovascular Genetics in Clinical Practice.
-Education in Cardiogenetics and Stem Cells were discontinued.
