Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue will analyze the psycho-social aspects that promote the socio-relational well-being of children and adolescents. The literature highlights how crucial factors, such as social variables (relationships with peers, teachers, and parents) and individual variables (norms, values, beliefs, temperamental characteristics, and personality traits), can promote positive youth development by reducing stigmatization, marginalization, bullying victimization, and psychopathologies across the lifespan. The analysis of the psychological mechanisms involved in the characteristics of the socio-cultural environment and how they can influence adaptation and psychological well-being will be considered from a bio-psycho-social perspective.

This Special Issue, therefore, will feature a diverse collection of cross-sectional, longitudinal, cross-cultural, and case studies, including multi-informant research, written from various perspectives to provide a comprehensive analysis of the factors influencing the well-being of children and adolescents. The focus will extend beyond children and adolescents to encompass the behavioral regulatory processes of other key figures involved in their development.
