Communications and Electronics in Road Vehicles

Dear Colleagues,

 The use of communications for the transmission of information in the field of transport allows the introduction of services that increase safety and efficiency at the levels of vehicle and mobility. At present, there already exist several initiatives of cooperative services and cooperative corridors. In addition, various technologies coexist, where each one provides different and complementary properties. Examples of these include DSRC-based communication modules and cellular technology with 3–4–5G. The deployment of cooperative services deployment, the standardization of communications and information transmitted, and general cybersecurity are key issues for this technology mass dissemination. Furthermore, communications provide an invaluable assistance to efforts to deploy highly automated vehicles in complex scenarios, meaning that the relation between assistance and automated systems grows closer each day.

This Special Issue aims to cover the most recent advances in the areas of connected vehicles, C-ITS, and assisted and automated vehicles. Reviews and surveys of the state of the art are also welcome. Authors are invited to contact the guest editor—prior to submission—if they are uncertain whether their work falls within the Special Issue’s general scope.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
