Special Issue Information
We would like to invite engineer on practice as well as academic people who are engaged in the fields of applications of AI to communication systems such as mobile ad hoc networks, delay-tolerable networks as well as mobile multi-agents to submit their valuable work to this Special Issue. When we say “communication”, we do not mean only communication technologies, but also humanity and social aspects of communication. Therefore, we expect not only researchers but also journalists from social science fields including economists to participate in this issue and to inspire interdisciplinary discussions.
Dear Colleagues,
The purpose of this Special Issue on Artificial Intelligence for Communications and Networks is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the theory and applications in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Communication Systems. This issue focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Representation, Planning, Learning, Scheduling, Perception Reactive AI Systems, and Evolutionary Computing and other topics related to Intelligent Systems and Computational Intelligence for Communication and Networks. AI in economic and financial systems as well as social aspects of AI are also very welcome.
This issue also focuses on narrower fields of applications of AI to communication systems such as mobile ad hoc networks, delay-tolerable networks as well as mobile multi-agents. In ad hoc network systems, communication protocols and route selection strategies are very important where AI-related technologies demonstrate their ability. When we say “communication”, we do not mean only communication technologies, but also humanity and social aspects of communication. Therefore, we expect researchers and practitioners from social science fields including journalists and economists to submit their papers and to inspire in our interdisciplinary discussions.
A substantial amount of research work is ongoing in these areas, in an attempt to discover appropriate theories and paradigms to use in real-world applications. Communication systems are important areas of Artificial Intelligence and Distributed AI, including Multi-Agent Systems. Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions as well as describing original works are especially welcome.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
