Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The present need to fulfill the energy requirements of human beings as well as technology development is an important task for any nation. Highly populated countries are facing a lot of challenges regarding this issue and continuously working with the newly emerging areas of solar thermal energy to complete these needs. However, their dependency on coal-based power plants to fulfill energy needs results in environmental pollution. So, solar energy systems have the potential to overcome these challenges at an economical rate due to eco-friendly behavior. In Asia, due to the competitive environment and huge energy demand, solar energy systems may play an important role. Due to this reason their expansion is happening at a faster rate in Asia.

However, there are a number of advantages of the implementation of solar thermal energy systems but certain challenges are also there like solar energy system analysis under different conditions, the emergence of new materials in the system, and system expansion from an industrial point of view. In future, the entire world is promising for the reduction of carbon emissions, so the potential of the solar thermal systems may help to achieve this target. The implementation of solar thermal systems may reduce environmental pollution, be cost-effective and be affordable for any nation. This Special is focused on the implementation and challenges related to solar thermal energy systems and welcomes original research, communications, and review papers in this emerging area.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
