Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cardiovascular disease predominates as the leading health burden among middle-aged and older adults, but progress in improving cardiovascular health remains slow. To avoid the high costs of treatment, primary care is the recommended first-line approach to promoting healthy behaviors and preventing cardiovascular disease in adults with cardiovascular risk factors. Behavior change interventions on diet and nutrition, exercise, and smoking cessation are effective ways to reduce risk factors related to CVD through both weight loss and decreasing blood pressure.

According to these premises, this Special Issue aims to provide an overview of the current strategies used to enhance primary care in the prevention, treatment and control of cardiovascular disease. Papers dealing with the use of technology, intervention programs, or training strategies in the primary care of patients with cardiovascular disease will be highly encouraged.
