Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Obesity is a major public health problem on a global scale, both in its own right and as a result of its association with other chronic noncommunicable diseases. Several studies have shown that when this disease begins early in life, such as childhood and adolescence, it is more likely to persist in adulthood, with negative health consequences appearing earlier.

Therefore, studies on the management of obesity in childhood and adolescence, with regard to both prevention and treatment, including behavioral, lifestyle, pharmacological, and surgical aspects, are essential for guiding healthcare professionals.

The aim of this Special Issue is to publish original studies and reviews, including clinical trials and observational studies, that address prophylactic and therapeutic aspects of obesity in childhood and adolescence. Studies may also address methods of assessing body composition in individuals with obesity as a way to identify outcomes obtained in treatment programs. Regarding reviews, we will consider narrative, systematic, and comprehensive reviews, as well as meta-analyses, that examine specific review questions related to the central theme of this Issue.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
