Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Oncology nursing has experienced significant progress in recent decades, becoming an essential discipline in the comprehensive care of cancer patients. The increase in the incidence of this disease, coupled with advances in oncological treatments, has highlighted the importance of specialized and humanized nursing care.

Cancer is a complex disease that not only affects the patient's physical health but also their emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. Oncology nursing focuses on addressing these multiple dimensions of the disease, providing holistic care that improves the quality of life of patients and their families.

Oncology nurses play a crucial role in all phases of the disease, from diagnosis to survivorship and palliative care. Their responsibilities include education, symptom management, emotional support, and care coordination.

Oncology nursing research is essential to identify new care strategies, improve clinical outcomes, and optimize the quality of life of patients. Priority research areas include the development of nursing interventions, improved communication, symptom management, and end-of-life care.

We are pleased to invite you to this Special Issue on "Oncology Nursing and Patient Care", which is in line with the subject relating to the journal scope, as it is related to the aspects of nursing and healthcare research, such as: nursing, care, diagnosis, prevention, treatment, among others.

This Special Issue aims to bring together the latest research in oncology nursing, promoting the exchange of knowledge and the development of new lines of research. By highlighting the importance of nursing in the care of patients with cancer, it seeks to contribute to the continuous improvement of care and the promotion of excellence in clinical practice.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Clinical Practice: Innovative nursing interventions, evidence-based practices, and clinical trials related to cancer care.
  • Patient Experience: Quality of life, symptom management, psychosocial support, and patient-centered care.
  • Education and Training: In the field of oncology nursing and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Research and Innovation: Emerging technologies and personalized care as an integration with oncology nursing.
