Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Chronic pulmonary diseases are a major global health concern, affecting millions of individuals and imposing a significant burden on healthcare systems worldwide. These diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and interstitial lung disease, are characterized by persistent respiratory symptoms and airflow limitation. The epidemiology of chronic pulmonary diseases involves understanding their prevalence, incidence, distribution, and determinants in various populations.
This Special Issue aims to explore the epidemiology of chronic pulmonary diseases and the various factors associated with their onset, progression, and outcomes. We invite original research articles, reviews, and meta-analyses that delve into the prevalence and incidence rates of these diseases, identify genetic, environmental, and behavioral risk factors, and examine the impact of comorbidities and sociodemographic variables. Studies on the effectiveness of public health interventions, disease management programs, and policy implications are also welcome.
Understanding the epidemiology and associated factors of chronic pulmonary diseases is crucial in developing targeted prevention strategies, improving early diagnosis, and optimizing treatment protocols. This Special Issue seeks to gather comprehensive evidence to inform clinical practice and public health policies, ultimately aiming to reduce the burden of chronic pulmonary diseases and improve the quality of life of affected individuals.
