Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Considering that breast cancer (BC) is the most frequently diagnosed malignancy, our Special Issue, “Research on Interventions Used for the Prevention and Control of Cancer in Women”, is of huge importance.

A number of BCs can be explained by modifiable risk factors related to lifestyle. It is broadly known that obesity in postmenopausal women is related to an increased risk of BC and increased morbidity and mortality rates in BC and other cancers. Explaining an increased risk of BC seems to be simple, although not universally accepted, with higher oestrogen levels resulting from the adipose tissue conversion of oestrogen precursors. The role of progestogens is also known as a contributing factor for BC. On the other hand, tamoxifen in reproductive ages and aromatase inhibitors in menopause can be used as chemopreventive medications.

Papers related to interventions used for the prevention and control of frequent cancers in women are accepted in this Special Issue.
