Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In order to prevent disease and promote health, a comprehensive picture of what disables and kills people across countries, time, age, and sex is needed. Adequate methods for the identification and quantification of disease conditions and risk factors are necessary to improve health systems and eliminate health disparities. The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study is an approach to quantifying the burden of disease to provide useful information for health policy dialogues.

A Special Issue of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/ijerph) on “Current and Future Perspectives on Estimating the Global Burden of Disease” invites research articles, (systematic) literature reviews, methodological papers, and critical discussions on all aspects related to quantifying the global burden of disease. Articles may cover issues at the global, national or subnational level, as long as they are related to methods for quantifying the burden of disease or attributing risk factors to the disease burden. We welcome innovations in theories, methods, modelling, data integration, and data analytics, and their application to current public health issues with respect to policy and practice.
