Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Research into anti-cancer treatment has represented a great challenge due to its unpredictable nature and the variety of different cancers requiring different specific treatment. Moreover, the currently available treatments, such as chemotherapy, have severe unavoidable side effects that can greatly impact quality of life. Hence, the discovery of new therapeutic resources is urgently needed to overcome these problems. The effort into finding new active treatments focus on identifying and characterizing new natural compounds with anti-cancer properties. Natural components have been reported to exert anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity, among others, that could be beneficial for cancer treatment and prevention.

This Special Issue concentrates on the role of Natural Resources in cancer prevention and treatment, along with the therapeutic potential of these agents. The papers published here will certainly contribute to the ever-growing cancer research and provide a new insight into the anti-cancer mechanism of natural resources.
